Boise State 68, Northern Arizona 45

Senior center Phil Rodman and junior guard Joe Wyatt combined for 23 points Thursday night and helped shut down the Lumberjacks in the second half as the Broncos added to their conference lead.

Leading 47-42 with 12:20 left, Boise State scored 14 straight points to break the game open. Rodman finished with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Wyatt chipped in with 10 points.

Junior guard Charles Thomas led seventh place NAU with 15 points.

Boise State upped its lead to 1-1/2 games over idle Montana State.

Northern Arizona scored only four points in the first 10:30 of the game and trailed 22-7 with 7:40 left in the first half.

In the second half, the Lumberjacks trimmed Boise’s lead to five points at 47-42 before the Broncos went on their scoring streak. Northern Arizona did not score another field goal.

Three-point shots kept NAU in the game. The Lumberjacks hit 10 of 15, but they committed 24 turnovers.
