Two Sought For Beating Man

From Staff Reports

Spokane police are searching for two men, one of whom used racial slurs, while they beat up a man early Saturday.

The victim, who is Native American, and a friend were walking in the 1400 block of North Maple about midnight when they were approached by six men.

One of them called the victim racial names, then hit him in the face with brass knuckles, police said.

When the victim’s friend pulled the attacker away, another man hit the victim in the head with a baseball bat.

The victim, who was treated and released at a local hospital, told police his attackers were both white men in their 20s and of average height and build. Both were wearing dark jackets and blue jeans.

Police searched the neighborhood, but found no suspects.
