Pacific Defeats WSU, 3-2 With The Aid Of Coug Errors

The Pacific Tigers took advantage of five Washington State University errors and the seven-strikeout performance of pitcher Ron Lewis to defeat the Cougars 3-2 Sunday, completing a sweep of the three-game series at Stockton, Calif.

WSU’s Heath McLellan (1-2) went the distance for the Cougars, striking out four in working eight innings. He gave up six singles, walked two and allowed two earned runs. Lewis (2-0) also went the distance, walking just one while allowing eight hits.

Ramy Dickinson, Pacific’s senior center fielder, belted his second home run of the season in the second inning to stake the hosts to an early 1-0 run.

WSU’s defense fell apart in the seventh when the Tigers scored a pair of runs on two singles and three WSU errors.
