Canadian Dollar At 10-Month Low
The Canadian dollar sank to a 10-month low against the U.S. dollar Monday amid dimming prospects for lower interest rates, analysts said. However, the U.S. dollar fell against the yen and Deutsche mark following a stronger-than-expected Japanese trade report.
The Canadian dollar “has had a rough couple of days and there is a lack of appetite for the dollar-bloc today,” said James Webber, an analyst at Toronto Dominion Securities Inc.
The Canadian dollar closed at 72.19 U.S. cents, down from 72.41 U.S. cents on Friday, according to Bloomberg Financial Markets.
