Ways Sought To Help Victims Follow Trial

Compiled From Wire Services

Attorney General Janet Reno is exploring whether she can use closed-circuit television, travel stipends and daily recorded bulletins to help victims of the Oklahoma bombing follow the trial 500 miles away in Denver.

“We are exploring all possibilities because I think it is so very important … that victims and survivors of victims have the chance to watch the process in action,” Reno told her weekly news conference Thursday.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch moved the trial of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols from Oklahoma to Denver to ensure that an unbiased jury could be selected. The two men are charged with the April 19, 1995, bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City that killed 169 people and injured more than 500 others.
