Reward Offered In Death Of Wolf

Associated Press

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever killed a federally protected wolf south of Yellowstone National Park two weeks ago.

Its body was discovered about 100 miles south of the park Feb. 11, near the town of Daniel, Wyo.

“Preliminary investigations have disclosed only that the wolf was killed illegally,” the agency announced late Friday.

Anyone convicted of illegally killing a wolf faces imprisonment and fines of up to $100,000.
