Buffett Passes Gates

Investor Warren Buffett has passed Microsoft founder Bill Gates as the world’s wealthiest businessman, according to USA Today.

The newspaper reported Wednesday that a statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission last week shows Buffett’s 479,202 shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock are worth $16.6 billion.

The paper says that puts him ahead of Gates, whose stake in Microsoft currently is worth about $14.1 billion.
