Former Steeler Charged

Compiled From Wire Services

Glen Edwards, a member of two Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl championship teams, was in jail on charges of drug violations and fighting with police.

The 48-year-old former safety was accused Friday night of buying marijuana, possessing crack cocaine and resisting arrest. He was held in lieu of $12,500 bail at the Pinellas County Jail.

Police said they saw him buying marijuana, searched him and found six pieces of crack cocaine in his pockets. He was accused of shoving officers and trying to run away.
