Speedskating Champs Crowned

Moira D’Andrea of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., won the women’s overall title and KC Boutiette of Tacoma took the men’s crown at the U.S. Allround Speedskating Championship.

On the final day of the two-day competition, Tama Sundstrom of Glen Ellyn, Ill., took the 1,500-meter race in 2 minutes, 8.49 seconds, and 15-year-old Kirstin Holum of Waukesha, Wis., the 5,000-meter race in 8:01.12. She is the daughter of former Olympic gold medalist Dianne Holum.

In men’s competition, Boutiette won the 1,500 in 1:54.86 and the 10,000 with a time of 14:48.02. He also won the 5,000 meters Saturday as he took three of the four races.
