Valley Teen Arrested After New Year’s Stabbing

From Staff And Wire Reports

A teenage boy was arrested early Monday for a Spokane Valley stabbing.

The attack occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 9310 E. Montgomery shortly before midnight Sunday, Sheriff’s Lt. Chan Bailey reported.

Bailey said the 17-year-old Valley resident pulled a knife and stabbed the 20-year-old victim, whose identity was not disclosed.

The Spokane victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in satisfactory condition late Tuesday with injuries to his lung, colon and intestines.

The victim and his attacker apparently exchanged words at a Valley convenience store, sparking the incident, Bailey said.

The teenager was arrested at the Circle K at Broadway and Argonne. He was booked into the county juvenile detention center on suspicion of first-degree assault.
