8-Year-Old Boy Abducted After He Was Dropped At School

From Staff And Wire Reports

An 8-year-old boy missing since his mother dropped him off at school Wednesday morning was abducted, the Snohomish County sheriff’s office said.

Nicholas Sullivan was left outside Hazelwood Elementary School by his mother but school officials called her at 9:45 a.m. to say he had not been seen inside the school, the sheriff’s office said.

Officers were looking for a 19-year-old man who had told his parents he was going to spend the day with the Sullivan boy. The sheriff’s office said the 19-year-old is known to the boy and his family but is not a relative.

The boy’s family knew nothing of the 19-year-old’s plan to spend time with Nicholas on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said.

The 19-year-old had recently sold a number of personal items and was carrying about $7,000 in cash.
