Itron Names Chief Operating Officer

Itron Inc. has named Carl Aron to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Aron most recently was national director of wireless and telecommunications consulting practices at A.T. Kearney, a subsidiary of EDS Corp., a giant in data-processing.

He has also headed RAM Broadcasting Corp. and is an expert on changes in the electric utility industry and the support services needed to keep energy producers competitive.

Itron, based in the Spokane Valley, makes remote and automated meter-reading equipment for utilities around the world.
