Montana State-Billings Outfinishes Oregon State

Brent Montague scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers in the second half, to lead Montana State-Billings to a 79-74 victory over Oregon State Wednesday in a non-conference men’s basketball game in Corvallis, Ore.

The victorious Yellowjackets (8-4) combined for 13 3-pointers on 27 attempts, including 7 of 12 in the second half. The NCAA Division II visitors outscored the Pac-10 Beavers 15-6 over the final 4:50.

Portland 88, Southern Utah 83

Lemont Daniels scored 23 points, 21 in a second-half rally, as the Pilots (9-2) beat the Thunderbirds (6-6)in a non-conference college game at Portland.

Daniels scored 11 straight points in a 2-minute span in the second half and had a rebound basket with 1:10 left that broke an 81-81 tie.

Texas Tech 86, Montana State 67

At Lubbock, Texas, Cory Carr scored 26 points to lead the Red Raiders (9-1), off to their best start since the 1942-43 season, to an easy victory over the Bobcats (7-3).

Quadre Lollis led four players in double figures for Montana State by scoring 12 points.

Sac State 77, Idaho State 74 (OT)

At Pocatello, Idaho, Michael Boyd scored 28 points, including six in overtime, to lead the Hornets (4-8) past the Bengals (3-7).

ISU’s Rob Preston had 20 points.
