Ice-Cold Coeur D’Alene Frozen Out By Lewiston

The Coeur d’Alene girls had a shooting night Thursday straight out of a nightmare.

The Vikings (0-4, 3-11) missed 45 of 49 shots from the field in a 42-15 Inland Empire League loss to visiting Lewiston (2-2, 7-6). CdA didn’t score in the third quarter.

Brooke Cushman scored eight first-half points for the Bengals, who shot 13 of 20 from the free-throw line. Jill Pederson had 12 rebounds and Andrea Wilkey 10 points and three blocked shots for the Vikings.

Amy Lemon’s late drive and free throw put the Wildcats (1-5, 3-10) ahead by three points, and Casey Magnus had 19 rebounds in a win over the visiting Hawks (2-3, 2-10).

Kellogg trailed by 10 before scoring the final seven points of the third quarter. The Wildcats had 48 rebounds, including nine by Pauline Costa and seven by Joey Luchini off the bench.
