Not All The Superheros Wear Tights And Capes

Looks like there’s someone more super than Christopher Reeve - namely, Robin Williams.

Williams has promised to pay the disabled Reeve’s medical bills when his insurance runs out, according to the London Daily Star.

The paper said the two are close friends who vowed 22 years ago as classmates at Manhattan’s Juilliard School that whoever made it big first would help the other.

Said a source: “Neither would have imagined this would be the help that was needed, but they love each other like brothers and there is nothing they wouldn’t do for each other.”

Reeve was paralyzed Memorial Day weekend in a horse-riding accident. Four months of intensive care cost $250,000, and his ongoing outpatient treatment is expected to run $400,000 a year. Williams is believed to be worth $100 million.

Loose talk

A hero? He just plays one in real life

Speaking of good deeds, actor Mark Harmon rescued two teen-agers from a burning car that crashed through a fence and into a tree near his Los Angeles home Wednesday night, using a sledgehammer to break the windows before pulling the boys to safety. Harmon, who played a doctor on the medical drama “St. Elsewhere,” declined to comment.

Yo, here comes bad Beav and his homies

Universal Pictures is conducting casting calls across the country for boys aged 7 and 13 to star in a new feature film based on the “Leave It to Beaver” television series. Producers Ben Myron, Brian Levant and David Helpern describe the picture as a “contemporary comedy about life as seen through the eyes of young Theodore (Beaver) Cleaver.”

He’s used to referring to big tubs as ‘she’

Tom Arnold, meanwhile, will take on the old Ernest Borgnine role as P.T. boat skipper Quinton McHale in the upcoming “McHale’s Navy” movie. However, that means he’ll have to cancel previous plans to play Ralph Kramden in “The Honeymooners” film.

Once again, she’ll be fair game for the critics

And in what’s bound to be the best of the bunch, Top Model magazine reports that the current TV show “Baywatch” is going to be brought to the big screen - starring none other than Cindy Crawford.

The idea is almost more than we can stomach

On the sequel scene, Daily Variety says Sigourney Weaver is in negotiations with Twentieth Century Fox to reprise her role as Ripley in a fourth “Alien” installment - despite her character being killed off in “Alien 3.” Production is expected to begin in the spring or summer.
