Janzen Leads Mercedes

Lee Janzen started the day with four straight birdies and finished with another on the last hole to shoot a 7-under-par 65 for the lead midway through the Mercedes Championships.

Janzen, who had nine birdies and two bogeys, finished 36 holes at 8 under par 136, one stroke ahead of Mark O’Meara, who followed his opening-round 68 with a 69, capped by a birdie on No. 18.

Two strokes back were Jim Gallagher Jr., Scott Hoch and Corey Pavin.
