Man Found Guilty Of Raping Girl, 14

A jury found a 30-year-old Spirit Lake man guilty Tuesday on three counts of rape.

Kevin J. Rudy could spend up to life in prison for the crimes.

Rudy raped a 14-year-old girl who had been living with him and his wife, said Traci Post, Kootenai County deputy prosecutor.

Rudy would wait until his wife went to work and then molest the girl, Post said.

He raped the girl three times in September 1994. He then threatened the girl, trying to prevent her from telling authorities, Post said.

Rudy maintains he is innocent.
