Police Look For Man Who Tried To Lure Girl

Coeur d’Alene police are looking for a man who tried to entice a young girl into his car Tuesday morning.

A 6-year-old girl told police that the man told her to get into his vehicle while she was walking to school, said Capt. Carl Bergh.

The girl was walking to Sorensen Elementary School when she first saw the man drive by, Bergh said. As she was walking along the 900 block of Foster Avenue she saw the man standing near his car.

The man told her to get into the vehicle, but she continued walking to school, Bergh said.

The man then drove by the girl again and called to her. The child reported the incident when she arrived at school.

The man was driving a white car with black spots on the driver’s side, the girl told police. She described the man as elderly with a white baseball cap and orange-flecked white beard.

Bergh urged parents to warn their children not to talk to or accept presents from strangers.
