Complex Proposed For Argonne, Wellesley Site

A Spokane Valley developer is seeking permission from the county to build a 66-unit apartment complex at Argonne and Wellesley.

Bill Lawson has asked for a zone change on 9.6 acres he owns at the northwest corner of the intersection.

The land is currently zoned for single-family homes. Lawson wants zoning changed to allow the apartments and other multifamily homes.

The county’s hearing examiner committee will consider the request at its monthly meeting next Thursday.

Four other Valley projects also are on the committee’s agenda.

Lawson also has asked for permission to add three more units to the Mountain View Estates condominium complex.

The 157-unit complex is located near the other land Lawson wants to develop.

He needs a zone change, from single-family residential to multifamily residential, to move ahead with the expansion.

In Pasadena Park, Terry Fitzhum wants to change the zoning on nearly 5.4 acres of land so he can build as many as five houses on it.

The property is located just east of the intersection of Upriver and Pierce and is currently zoned to allow for just one home.

In the Evergreen area, a developer is seeking approval for a seven-home development on 12th Avenue, between Adams and Warren roads.

Jimmie Bates is seeking preliminary approval for his plan to subdivide the just more than two acres.

Two people are seeking a zone change for a 35,000-square-foot lot near Pines and Broadway.

Rose Smith of Anchorage, Alaska, and Pete Talarico of the Valley want the zoning changed from one that allows 3.5 housing units per acre to one that allows up to 22 per acre.
