Award-Winning Poet Plans Reading

Jack Gilbert, a prize-winning poet and distinguished visiting writer-in-residence for winter quarter at Eastern Washington University, will read from his works at 7 tonight in the Spokane City Council Chambers, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

Gilbert, whose latest poetry collection is titled “The Great Fires: Poems 1982-1992,” won the Yale Younger Poets Award in 1962.

He has been nominated twice for a Pulitzer Prize.
