White, Tubbs Head Hall List

Former Southern California running back Charles White, winner of the 1979 Heisman Trophy, and ex-Oklahoma center-linebacker Jerry Tubbs, winner of the 1956 Walter Camp Award, head a group of 11 players and one coach selected to the National Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

The other players were Ohio State fullback Bob Ferguson, 1959-61; Pittsburgh defensive end Hugh Green, 1977-80; Army tackle Frank Merritt, 1940-43; Tennessee guard John Michels, 1950-52; Maryland center-linebacker Bob Pelligrini, 1953-55; Wisconsin end Pat Richter, 1960-62; UCLA linebacker Jerry Robinson, 1975-78; Texas running back Jimmy Saxton, 1959-61, and Brigham Young quarterback Marc Wilson, 1977-79.

Red Sanders, who coached at Vanderbilt from 1940-42 and 1946-48 and at UCLA from 1949-57 also was selected.
