Kellogg Coasts Past Priest River

Prep basketball

Kellogg scored early and often on the road, running away from Priest River 71-44 in an Intermountain League boys basketball game Friday.

The Wildcats took advantage from outside with six 3-pointers on the night. Casey Fisher led Kellogg with 19 points, while the Spartans got 17 from Darin Bradbury.

Kellogg improved to 9-2 overall, 3-1 in league. Priest River slipped to 2-11, 0-4.

The Lumberjacks got a pair of 18-point performances from Steve Reabel and Ty Konkright in a non-league win over the Maniacs at St. Maries.

St. Maries (6-6) jumped out to an early lead and relied on defense to keep it by forcing 27 turnovers.

Orofino was also hurt by shooting only 33 percent from the field.

The Tigers jumped out to a big lead and never looked back en route to the league victory over the visiting Warriors.

Mullan (9-2, 3-0) was led by Chris Engel’s 25 points. Teammate Al Sisk added 13. Joe Lamb led Kootenai (1-8, 0-4) with 18.

Game postponed

The Coeur d’Alene-Moscow nonleague boys basketball game, scheduled for Friday at Moscow, was postponed due to weather.

The game has been rescheduled for Feb. 6 at Moscow.
