Lambert Leads Knights Past Wampus Cats

Glen Lambert scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Lakeside Knights (10-3, 3-0) to a win over the Clark Fork Wampus Cats in a North Star League matchup Saturday night in Plummer.

Nate Stutzke tossed in 13 points to lead Clark Fork, while Ian Reuter scored 12.

Lakeside’s James Twoteeth scored 12, while teammates Buck Allen and Lyle Meshell each added 10.

Matt Hegbloom scored 19 points and snatched 16 rebounds as the Miners (4-10) overcame a first-half deficit to post a non-league win over the visiting Tigers (9-3).

Mullan’s David Reed led all scorers with 22, while teammate Al Sisk, with 9-of-11 shooting from the floor, finished with 19.

John Heyn had 14 points for Wallace.

Republic outgunned Selkirk 17-6 in the third period and then iced the game at the free throw line late in the fourth quarter to post a win in Republic.

It was the tenth straight win for the Tigers (13-2, 10-1), who sit atop the North Division. The tenth-ranked Rangers (12-3, 9-2) saw their 11-game winning streak come to an end.

Jason Baldwin scored a game-high 20 points for Republic, while teammate Mark Rickard totaled 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Nathan Dial’s 11 points topped Selkirk.

Dan Kuney came off the bench to score all 11 of his points over the final nine minutes and rally the South Division-leading Dragons (13-2, 11-0) to a win over the visiting Redskins (8-6, 6-5).

Dominic Tonasket scored a game-high 23 points for Wellpinit. Adrian Holt and Perry Pakootas each added 14 points.

Jason Ala and Dylan Averett scored 18 and 17, respectively, for the Dragons who have won nine in a row.

Jeremy Affeldt scored 10 of his game-high 23 points during a pivotal third quarter to lead the Crusaders (10-5, 8-3) to a win over the host Mustangs (6-9, 4-7).

Andy Jiminez had 19 points and Guy Baribault had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Northport.

Zach Klaja chipped in with 15 points for the Crusaders. Teammate Paul Mortlock scored 12.

Springdale’s Ben Peterson notched game-high scoring honors with a 24-point effort. Teammate Josh McCurdy scored 20.

Mikey Finley finished with 14 points for Inchelium.

The Chargers, who are averaging 30 percent shooting from the floor, shot 38 percent on the night.

Greg Belzer turned a steal into the go-ahead basket with 3:50 left to play as the Cougars (11-2, 8-0) held off the Eagles (8-6, 5-3).

Chewelah’s Chris Boone scored a game-high 21 points, while Jeremy Landram and Belzer scored 17 and 11, respectively.

Josh Miller’s 12 points topped Lakeside. Ben Spiger chipped in with 11 points, while George Petticrew and Billy Bender added 10 apiece.

Lakeside held a two-point advantage heading into the final quarter before being outscored 25-17.

Tim Cornwall had six steals to go along with his 10 points.
