Lemm Does It All For Moscow In Win

Amy Lemm made certain Saturday that the Intermountain League title remained in Moscow.

Lemm had a team-high 18 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists as host Moscow (18-1, 9-0) dispatched second-place Bonners Ferry 74-37. The Badgers (12-6,7-2) and Moscow have one league game left, meaning the IML title is the Bears’ for the fifth consecutive year.

The Bears used full-court pressure to force 14 first-quarter turnovers. Moscow shot 30 of 59 from the floor to the Badgers’ 17 of 49.

Despite missing all 21 field-goal attempts in the second half, the Knights (13-4, 7-0) beat the visiting Wampus Cats at Plummer and clinched the league title.

The first time the teams met was a normal, 49-39 Lakeside win. This time, defense and tentative shooting prevailed.

Lakeside’s Jennifer Niebuhr scored all 10 of her points in the first half. Clark Fork crept within 15-12 in the late going before Margaret SiJohn made the Knights’ lone free throw of the night.
