Liberty Defeats Davenport With Ease

Liberty left no doubt Saturday that its losing ways against Davenport were over.

The Lancers (7-8, 5-4) forced 34 turnovers and held the visiting Gorillas (8-9, 4-6) to 23-percent shooting during a 49-29 Bi-County League win that tied them with Reardan for first place in the East Division.

Heather Cornwall had five steals and Amy Torguson and Becky Bothman seven rebounds apiece for Liberty, which had lost 14 straight to Davenport. The Gorillas played without second-leading scorer Christie Emery.
