Cedric Dixon scored 25 points in a brilliant display of clutch 3-point shooting Sunday night as Alabama-Birmingham stunnedd No. 3 Cincinnati 70-68 in Birmingham, Ala., in a Conference USA game.

UAB (13-6, 3-2) slowed down the high-scoring Bearcats (12-1, 3-1) holding Bob Huggins’ team to its lowest offensive output of the season.

Cincinnati’s star, forward Danny Fortson, scored 24 but was frustrated all evening by UAB’s collapsing zone.

Ray Allen scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half, and the Huskies (16-1, 8-0) won its 15th straight game by beating the Orangemen (13-4, 4-3) in Big East play at Hartford, Conn.

Allen, 2 of 9 from the field in the first half, scored 10 points in the Huskies’ 16-4 run that gave them a 62-46 lead with 9:08 to play.

Terrell McIntyre had 15 points in the second half, and the Tigers held the Demon Deacons (12-2, 4-1) nearly 30 points below its average in the Atlantic Coast Conference victory at Clemson, S.C.

McIntyre finished with a career-high 20 points as Clemson (12-2, 3-2) put an end to Wake Forest’s nine-game winning streak.

Maurice Taylor stuffed in the deciding basket, then Maceo Baston snuffed out the Nittany Lion’s (13-1, 4-1) last chance with a blocked shot as the host Wolverines (14-4, 4-1) won in Big Ten play, handing Penn State its first defeat.

At Auburn, Ala., Wes Flanigan scored 21 points, and the Tigers (15-3, 3-2) overcame poor early shooting to rally from a 14-point deficit to the victory over foul-prone LSU (9-7, 2-3) in a Southeastern Conference game.
