Campaign Violations Cost Momentum
The state Public Disclosure Commission on Tuesday fined the Spokane business association Momentum $1,000 for violating campaign contribution rules.
Half of the fine was suspended.
The commission found that Momentum failed to report $300,000 in campaign contributions distributed between 1990 and 1995.
The organization has been a major contributor to local ballot questions, including last year’s campaigns for city-county consolidation and a Pacific Science Center in Riverfront Park.
Janelle Fallen, Momentum executive director, said failure to report the contributions was an oversight.
“We know they take violations seriously, as do we,” Fallen said. , DataTimes
