Cda Fire Department Seeks Public’s Help

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department is asking city residents to help keep snow away from fire hydrants.

People often pile snow on top of fire hydrants or next to them when plowing driveways and parking lots, said firefighter Ken Gabriel. That violates the Uniform Fire Code.

It also delays the fire department’s response time if firefighters need to hook up to a hydrant during a fire. A little shoveling charity will help.

“If you do have a hydrant on or near your home, please help us all out and keep it clear,” Gabriel said.
