Man Shoots At Montana Deputies

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Montana Highway Patrol confirmed Sunday night that it sent officers to help Madison County deputies who were being shot at south of Ennis.

A Department of Transportation spokeswoman said U.S. 287 was closed for about a mile because a man was shooting at a sheriff.

The patrol said officers from Ennis and West Yellowstone responded to the area just after 9 p.m.

At 10 p.m., the Madison County dispatcher said the situation was ongoing.

The patrol did not know what brought on the shooting.
