At Houston, Philadelphia 76ers guard Vernon Maxwell was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail after failing to meet court orders on a marijuana possession charge… . John Salley, unable to get any playing time with the Toronto Raptors, arranged for a buyout of his contract and will try to hook up with another team. Salley is expected to try to join another NBA team or a European club after next weekend’s NBA All-Star Game in San Antonio… . Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday for John P. Killilea, director of player personnel for the Houston Rockets, who died after suffering a heart attack Saturday in Denver. He was 67.
