Jane Hedequist Spokane

Funeral Mass for Jane Audrey Hedequist, 57, is set for noon today at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hedequist died Saturday at home.

She was born in Lincoln, Neb., and had lived in Spokane since 1960.

She was a member of St. Anne’s Children’s Home Auxiliary, St. Thomas More Parish, Spokane Country Club, and the Junior League of Spokane, where she was named Outstanding Sustainer of the Year last December.

She was a founding member of the Ronald McDonald House and had served as president of its board of directors for two years. She had also served on the boards of the Spokane Art School, YMCA, Catholic Charities, Holy Family Hospital Foundation and the Cancer Survivors Committee, and on the Gonzaga Prep Great Auction Advisory Board. She was a founding member of the Breast Cancer Task Force.

Mrs. Hedequist is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert Hedequist; four sons, Robert of Seattle, Thomas and David, both of Spokane, and Daniel of Dallas; two daughters, Ann of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Julie of Spokane; a sister, Shirley Brigham of Lewiston; and seven grandchildren.

Lillian Boettcher Tacoma

Rosary service for Lillian (Adsitt) Boettcher, 88, is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at Dryer Mortuary in Tacoma. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Tacoma. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.

Mrs. Boettcher, a former Spokane resident, died Friday. She was born in Spokane.

She had worked at Spokane Linen Supply and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spokane.

In 1975 she moved to Newport, Wash., and she moved to Tacoma nine years ago.

Two husbands preceded her in death.

She is survived by four daughters, Fran Tice of Kalispell, Mont., Patricia Murphy of Spokane, Barbara Shaw of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Katherine Burroughs of Pearland, Texas; two sons, Richard Adsitt of Republic, Wash., and Ronald Adsitt of Spanaway, Wash.; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Luella Potter Spokane

Service for Luella E. Potter, 88, was Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial was at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Potter, a longtime Spokane resident, died Thursday. She was born in Rathdrum, Idaho.

She graduated from Kinman Business University and worked as secretary to the presidents of the Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. She retired in 1972.

She married Lewis Jesseph in 1933. He died in 1973.

She married Don Potter in 1979, and he died in 1991.

Mrs. Potter was a member of Central Spokane Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by a son, Richard Jesseph of Mead; a daughter, Carolyn Witter of Spokane; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Alice Knox Spokane

Memorial service for Alice J. Knox, 61, is set for 7 p.m. today at Grace Baptist Church. Cremation will precede at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory.

Miss Knox, who was born in Yakima, died Jan. 20.

She had lived in Spokane since the 1950s.

She served in the Air Force in the 1950s and worked at Liberty Park Florist for 32 years. She also raised Yorkshire terriers.

Miss Knox was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by a brother, Galen Knox of Endicott, N.Y.

Diana Taylor Newport, Wash.

Private graveside service for Diana P. Taylor, 58, will be today at the Newport Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home of Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Taylor died last Tuesday at home.

She was born in Oak Park, Ill.

She married Eldon Taylor in Newark, Calif., in 1955.

They moved to the OldtownNewport area in 1978 from California.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Jeff, Ron and Donald Taylor, all of Newport; her mother, Dorothy Foxson of Carson City, Nev.; a brother, Gary Foxson of Carson City; three sisters, Donna Wilson and Roberta Foxson, both of Carson City, and Darlene Bogusch of California; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Edna Gay Colfax, Wash.

Service for Edna (Allenbach) Gay, 89, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Onecho Bible Church near Colfax. Burial will follow at the Onecho Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gay died Saturday at home.

She was born in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School.

She received a teaching certificate from Cheney Normal School and taught in Whitman County schools.

In 1925 she married Elliott Gay. He died in 1973.

She taught for nine years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Onecho Bible Church and the Wilcox Grange.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Larson and Carol Jane Lyman, and two sons, Russel and Robert Gay, all of Colfax; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Onecho Church Building Fund or the Edna Gay Teachers Scholarship Fund in care of Bruning Funeral Home.

Robert Dixon Jr. Shingle Springs, Calif.

No service will be scheduled for Robert E. “Bob” Dixon Jr., 55, at his request. Green Valley Mortuary in California is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dixon died Jan. 17 in a car accident in California.

He had worked in construction most of his life and owned a construction business in Eldorado Hills, Calif.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Sherry Dixon; two sons, Daniel Dixon of Placerville, Calif., and Douglass Dixon of Roy, Wash.; two daughters, Debbie Dixon of Raleigh, N.C., and Donna Dill of Spokane; four stepdaughters, Michelle Smart, and Kimberly, Candace and Tatia Korver, all of Washington; his parents, Laurene and Robert Dixon Sr. of Spokane; one brother, Richard Dixon of Spokane; one sister, Judi Snider of Allyn, Wash.; eight grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.

Samuel Eyre Spokane

Memorial service for Samuel R. “Sam” Eyre, 81, was Monday at Airway Evangelical Free Church. Family graveside service preceded at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Eyre, who died Friday, was born in Spokane.

He had lived in Alberta for many years and farmed there. He returned to Spokane in 1946 and worked as a mechanic at Buchanan Chevrolet and Ratcliffe Ford in Cheney. He retired in 1978.

Mr. Eyre was a member of the Hi-Flyers and the Toms and Tabbies square-dancing groups.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia Eyre; a son, Jack Eyre of Reardan, Wash.; a daughter, Beverly Hunley of Seattle; two sisters, Edna Moen of Spokane and Dorothy Wilson of Clive, Alberta; and five grandchildren.

Max Calapp Malden, Wash.

Memorial service for Max L. Calapp, 77, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Malden (Wash.) Community Church. Schanzenbach Funeral Home of Rosalia, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Calapp, who was born in Iona, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He had worked for the Milwaukee Railroad.

Mr. Calapp was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen and was a past master of the Malden Masonic Lodge.

He had served on the Malden City Council for many years.

Mr. Calapp is survived by wife of 47 years, Norma Calapp; two brothers and one sister.

Marie Perin Priest River, Idaho

Service for Marie Perin, 73, was Saturday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.

Mrs. Perin, who died Jan. 22 at home, was born near Spirit Lake, Idaho.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and was involved in fund-raising for the Kaniksu Medical Clinic.

She worked with her husband ranching and raising appaloosa horses.

Her husband, Earl Perin, died in 1992.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Frank Jackson Spokane

Memorial service for Frank Dale Jackson, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Garfield (Wash.) Christian Church. Family inurnment will precede at the Colfax (Wash.) Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jackson, who died Saturday at Lilac Care Center in Spokane, was born on the family farm near Colfax.

He was raised in the Colfax-Palouse area and served in the Navy near the end of World War II. He moved to Elberton, Wash., and then to Garfield.

He worked for the Whitman County Road Department for many years before retiring in 1976. He moved to Spokane in 1980.

Mr. Jackson is survived by a daughter, Valarie Nelson of Rosalia, Wash.; a son, Robert Jackson of Spokane; his companion, Thelma Gay of Spokane; a sister, Mary Anderson of Othello, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Nancy Harris Spokane

Memorial service for Nancy A. Harris, 54, is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris, who was born in Chicago, died Wednesday.

She had lived in Spokane since 1964 and worked as a bartender.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, John Harris; two sons, Shawn Harris of Georgia and Robert Hatch of Florida; one stepson, Sean Harris of Whidbey Island, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Michelle Pratt of Spokane; one sister, Sally Hazlett of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Rosemarie Jack Spokane

Funeral Mass for Rosemarie D. Jack, 64, was Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Born in Clarkston, Wash., Mrs. Jack died Thursday. She had worked at The Bon Marche as a salesperson for nearly 20 years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, E. “Jack” Jack of Spokane; two daughters, Dennie Walker and Tina Osborn, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her mother, Delia Liptac of Spokane; a brother, Otis Liptac, and two sisters, Sil Ross and Doreen Guenther, all of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Helen Maciejewski Spokane

Graveside service for Helen S. Maciejewski, 80, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Maciejewski, who was born in Moquah, Wis., died Friday. She had lived in Spokane since 1942 and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Theodore Maciejewski, died in 1968.

She is survived by a son, Theodore Maciejewski Jr., of Spokane; three daughters, Diana Cosner, Linda Poindexter and Helen Bonasera, all of Spokane; three sisters, Leona Zambori, Catherine Marx and Millie Hudak; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cleora Neare Lind, Wash.

Service for Cleora P. Neare, 89, is set for 11 a.m. today at Trinity Methodist Church in Lind. Burial will follow at Lind Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Neare, a longtime Lind resident, died Thursday at the Hearthstone Retirement Inn in Moses Lake. She was born in Lind.

She graduated from high school in Lind and worked for Seafirst Bank from 1935 until she retired in 1967.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lind and the Washington Association of Wheat Growers.

She is survived by several cousins.

Mabel Ross Priest River, Idaho

No service will be held for Mabel Agnes Ross, 88, at her request. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ross died Wednesday at Mountainside Nursing Home in Sandpoint.

She was born in Natural Bridge, N.Y.

She moved to Priest River 25 years ago from Roseville, Calif.

She married Harold Ross in New York in 1929. He died in 1987.

Mrs. Ross is survived by three sons, Charles Ross of Arizona, Milton Ross of Yakima and Dennis Ross of Priest River; one daughter, Roberta Bernett of San Diego; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
