Mattel Urges Hasbro To Return To Talks
No. 1 toymaker Mattel Inc. kept the public pressure on No. 2 Hasbro, with a letter Tuesday urging the maker of G.I. Joe and Monopoly to resume negotiations on a shunned $5.25 billion buyout offer.
Mattel continued Tuesday to press its case with Hasbro shareholders.
“Alan, it is incumbent on both of us to finalize this transaction so that your shareholders can receive a premium of over $2.2 billion,” Mattel Chairman John Amerman wrote to Hasbro Chairman Alan Hassenfeld.
