A healthy kidney from his son was transplanted into race car driver-designer Carroll Shelby, who had been undergoing regular dialysis treatments because of his failing organ, a spokesman said.

Shelby, 73, and his 50-year-old son, Michael, were doing well after surgery at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital.

City and community leaders unveiled a plan to bring a Class A Pioneer league baseball team to Provo, Utah, in 1997 and to build a $6 million, 5,000-seat stadium.
