Motorcycle Wreck Kills Couple

A Spokane couple died Monday night when the motorcycle they were riding hit a power pole.

Francisco and Cynthia Lopez died instantly, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Bridges Road about 19 miles north of Spokane.

Francisco Lopez was driving the 1979 Kawasaki 750 west on Bridges about two miles west of U.S. Highway 2 when he lost control on a curve, the state patrol reported.

The motorcycle went off the road and hit the pole. Both victims were wearing helmets.
