Finding Area’s Best Fireworks For The Holiday

Spokane: After the Platters and Spokane Jazz Orchestra play at the American Music Festival in Riverfront Park, some 1,996 fireworks will ignite over downtown beginning at 9:45 p.m.

Coeur d’Alene: The Lake City’s biggest display, with more than 2,300 shells, will be shot off a barge on Lake Coeur d’Alene at dusk. Best view is from City Park and City Beach.

Grand Coulee Dam: Beginning at 10 p.m., lasers will bounce off the dam while fireworks explode in the sky. Best view is from the dam visitors’ arrival center.

Sandpoint: To cap its daylong festival, this city will detonate fireworks after dark over Lake Pend Oreille near City Beach.

Pullman: Fireworks will be launched at 10:10 p.m. to conclude the city’s festival at Sunnyside Park.

Othello: This city’s three-day fiesta, called SunFaire, features fireworks at 10 p.m. at Lions Park.

Clarkston/Lewiston: Clarkston, Wash., and Lewiston, Idaho, separated only by the Snake River, hold a communal July 4 festival. This year’s edition is in Clarkston, with festival-goers gathering at Clarkston High School’s Adams Field for the fireworks show over the Snake River at dusk.

Colville: The city’s fireworks display will be launched at the Stevens County Fairgrounds at dark.
