Teenager Charged In Hatchet Attack

A man was struck in the face with a hatchet Wednesday night after a fight with a teenage attacker.

The 32-year-old victim suffered two serious facial injuries; a cut through a nostril and another below his left eye. He was taken to a nearby hospital, treated and released.

Police arrived at the Madison Hotel, 206 N. Post, about 7:20 p.m. The victim told police that Jerimiah K. Johnson, 18, attacked him and his girlfriend.

Johnson had allegedly knocked the girlfriend to the floor and kicked her several times in the face before grabbing a hatchet and hitting the male victim, police said.

Police found Johnson, who also goes by alias Jerimiah Jones, just outside the Carlisle Hotel. They recovered a weapon and booked Johnson for first and fourth-degree assault. , DataTimes
