Compiled From Wire Services

A South Korean woman died from injuries she suffered in a six-hour exorcism ritual that ended with her husband and two others under arrest for investigation of murder, police said Friday.

The woman, Kyung Chung, 53, died about 6 a.m. Thursday, about four hours after paramedics were called to an apartment in the affluent Century City area, Detective Ron Phillips said.

Pending an autopsy, Phillips it was unclear what killed the woman, but she appeared to have serious internal injuries.

The three men said they were trying to remove evil spirits from her body during two three-hour sessions Wednesday afternoon and evening that continued into early Thursday, Phillips said.
