Mario Tiziani had a perfect finish to a disappointing performance in the Hooters Classic, closing Friday’s second round with a hole-in-one and a double-eagle.

Tiziani, 25, of Madison, Wis., who ended up with a 3-under-par 69 to miss the cut by a stroke, aced the 191-yard, par-3 17th hole and holed his second shot on the 568-yard, par-5 18th.

“One thing I’ve always said was that I will never give up,” said Tiziani.

Tiziani is the son of University of Wisconsin golf coach Dennis Tiziani and brother-in-law of Steve Stricker, who has emerged as a rising star on the PGA Tour.

Tiziani had a 1-over 145 total on The Divide Golf Club course, a 6,934-yard layout.

Vance Veazey of Senatobia, Miss., and Casey Martin of Eugene, Ore., lead the NGA Hooters Tour event with two-day totals of 135.
