Demonstration Turns Violent

Demonstrators demanding the release of Islamic militants threw stones at Palestinian police outside a West Bank detention center and blocked a main highway Saturday.

Police broke up the protest, punching and shoving the dozens of demonstrators.

Seven people were briefly detained, including an Associated Press cameraman and an AP reporter. The cameraman was filming police breaking up the protest.

Police told him he was showing Palestinians in a bad light, then took away his camera.
