Noel Eder Seattle

Memorial service for Noel Eder, 25, a former Spokane resident, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Manito Park duck pond. Morris and Morris Funeral Home of Sacramento, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eder died June 28, in Sacramento. He was afflicted with cystic fibrosis and received a double-lung transplant last year in Seattle.

In February he was diagnosed with a major, irreversible rejection of the transplant.

He moved to California, where he was participating in a pulmonary rehabilitation program at the University of California-Davis in Sacramento to rebuild his health for a retransplant.

He was a 19-year Spokane resident and attended Lewis and Clark High School. He graduated from Newport (Wash.) High School.

He was active statewide in fund-raising events for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and formed the CF Club. He was an active opponent of grass burning. He ran Bloomsday five years in a row.

He is survived by his mother, Lynda Donoian of Seattle; his father and stepmother, Matt and Melody Eder of Seattle; a sister, Cherese McCoy of Spokane; a stepsister, Jamie Whitaker of Seattle; his grandparents, Maxine and Dan Donoian of Spokane; and close friend Courtney Howell of Seattle.
