Gte Donates Truck To Search And Rescue

To thank Bonner County’s search and rescue unit, GTE donated a 1987 Dodge truck to the department Wednesday.

The donation was in honor of GTE employee Ray “Sonny” Anderson who died in a fall while hunting near Clark Fork last year.

Search and rescue crews spent several days in the rain and snow to find Anderson’s body on a mountainside.

The donated truck was repainted with search and rescue insignias and will be used on calls for lost or missing persons.

The rescue unit is an all-volunteer organization that relies on donations and is run by the Bonner County Sheriff’s Department.
