Amazon.Com Expands Internet Business

From Staff And Wire Reports

Bookseller Amazon.com of Seattle on Thursday announced a plan to expand its business by letting other companies and individuals recommend books and create an electronic link to its service on the World Wide Web.

The company will give people who recommend books on their Web site up to 8 percent of the revenue from any order that results from the recommendation. It can do that by keeping track of the connection a customer makes from a recommender’s Web site to its Web site.

Amazon.com has been testing the idea for several weeks and now has 300 Web sites enrolled in its recommendation program.
