Reward For Finding Swastika Painter

Compiled From Wire Services

The Army offered a $10,000 reward Thursday to find out who painted swastikas on the doors of black soldiers’ rooms.

President Clinton has vowed to punish those responsible for the red spray-painted swastikas found Tuesday on eight barracks doors. Black soldiers lived in six of the rooms and the other two rooms were vacant.

Army investigators interviewed many of the soldiers living in the 80-plus-room barracks for members of the 7th Special Forces Group. The reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
