Wilson Named Interim President

A top administrator at Sacred Heart Medical Center will be the hospital’s interim president until a new president is named.

Michael D. Wilson, Sacred Heart’s chief operating officer, also will serve as chief executive officer and president.

Former President Gerald Leahy retired Saturday after 36 years at the hospital. He was named president and chief executive officer in 1988.

The consulting firm of Witt/Kieffer is spearheading the search for a new president. The firm met with a cross-section of community leaders, physicians, employees and board members last month to develop a profile for candidates.
