Police Blow Up A Clothes Iron

Compiled From Wire Services

Police responding to dozens of reports of suspicious packages Saturday in the hours after the Olympic park bombing evacuated a mall and blew up a package found to contain a clothes iron.

Police detonated the duffel bag Saturday afternoon after evacuating Olympic visitors from the Underground Atlanta entertainment complex.

Police found the package in shrubbery near a restaurant in the complex and called federal bomb experts, who X-rayed the bag and detonated it.

Police evacuated people from the complex beginning about 4:45 p.m.
