Wallace, Racers Received Threats

Compiled From Wire Services

Former NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Rusty Wallace reacted strongly to the terrorist bomb that brought death and injury early Saturday morning to the Olympic Games in Atlanta.

“All it proves is there is a dingbat out there,” Wallace said at Talladega Superspeedway, where he is to race today in the DieHard 500.

Wallace revealed that he and fellow drivers have received anonymous threats through the years.

Wallace confirmed what some have known for years, but didn’t divulge because of concerns about creating “copycat” threats.
