Ownbey Lifts Prairie Past Sas

James Ownbey stroked a three-run homer in the second inning Saturday as Prairie beat Spokane Athletic Supply 9-6 to complete a non-league American Legion baseball sweep at North Idaho College.

Prairie won the opener 9-1 as Scott Rothrock had three runs batted in - including a two-run double in the third - to support Kurt Reese’s nine-strikeout, two-hit performance.

Ownbey finished with five RBIs in the nightcap, helping Ryan Banks to the win. Brad Medlock pitched two shutout innings for the save.
