Actor Jeremy Sinden Dies Of Cancer At 45

Compiled From Wire Services

Jeremy Sinden, the actor best known for his character parts as the pompous, supercilious or caddish upper-class Englishman, has died of cancer. He was 45.

Earlier this year, Sinden had to withdraw from what was one of the most acclaimed performances of his career - playing Toad, the vainglorious hero of “The Wind in the Willows” at London’s Old Vic theater.

He also won plaudits as a television performer, notably as Boy Mulcaster in the adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s “Brideshead Revisited,” Anthony Mortimer in “Crossroads,” and Captain Lydgate in “Middlemarch.”

He is survived by his wife, actress Delia Lindsay and two daughters.
