Woman Dies After Car Wreck

A 41-year-old Spokane woman died of internal injuries after a car wreck in the Spokane Valley early Sunday.

Roxanne T. Pierce, 1020 S. Edgerton, was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The two-vehicle accident happened about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 5th and Bradley.

A pickup southbound on Bradley, and Pierce’s Nissan Sentra westbound on 5th, collided in the middle of the intersection, according to the WSP.

The Sentra ricocheted into a tree and then into a house. Pierce was pronounced dead at 1:47 a.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

The driver of the pickup, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor head injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled. The WSP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
