Georgia Gov. Zell Miller, a close ally of President Clinton, was named Friday to head the committee that will draft the Democratic Party’s 1996 platform.
The work of Miller’s drafting committee will then be turned over to the Democratic National Convention’s platform committee, which will be led by Connecticut Rep. Barbara Kennelly and Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer.
